Yeah, that can be the challenge when it comes to certain commodities made from a composite of materials.
If it's available, ask for a Product Data Sheet, not a Safety Data Sheet. Sometimes the PDS has info on product composition. Other times not. If worse comes to worse, when it comes to plastic/plastic-like commodities assume Group A plastic unless the client can provide data to the contrary. Crocs are one well known shoe that is primarily composed of PEVA plus some secret sauce and unique processing to end up with their product. If I've got this right, EVA (and now polyurethane in higher-performance footbeds) is used in the mid-sole and for heel cup padding for the most part. PU (rigid), various PE compounds and nylons are used for uppers. Gum rubber and petroleum rubber for soles. I would be VERY sure of what you've got holistically... Steve L. So, I'd base my design off of that. On an SDS I found it also included water. From what I've found on google, "suitable extinguishing measure" include dry fog, dry chemical, foam, etc. This is a warehouse that stores shoes in cardboard boxes on racks. A very small percentage are flip-flops made of EVA. Looking for ideas on how best to protect the space.
