An update on my "American project" for all interested.
I just finished silver brazing the first step of the cylinder saddle assembly and it looks good, the silver flowed nicely and the assembly (saddle and cylinder blanks) looks to be solid. I used 544 phosphor bronze for the piece parts and hard silver for this step as there will be more soldering using lower temp grades for the remaining soldering steps. But first, the steam passages need to be milled.
