Well, since we dusted off the list, I thought I'd share a train-related story.

In April the front part of the No. 1 tunnel of Fort Bragg's
California Western Railroad ("Skunk Train") collapsed. The railroad,
which has been operating under a variety of limitations in recent
years, is now forced to offer excursions on only a fraction of its
30-mile right-of-way because it can't get equipment through the
tunnel.

And as a struggling business, it can't afford to fix the tunnel.

A news story from the Santa Rosa Press-Democrat (posted on the
Sacramento Bee web site for some reason), explains it all:

My immediate thought was to create a KickStarter.org campaign, but
the railroad is way ahead of me -- it's using a different service,
but the same idea:

Whether you've been on the CWRR or not, this collapsed tunnel
endangers yet another rail experience. Please consider donating.

Thanks.
