New issue 31: add easy_install to the 2.8 stdlib

One of the most annoying parts of any stackless installation is to
have to manually go and fetch an easy_install thing, which is then
used to bootstrap setuptools. This should really come out of the
box....
I haven't been involved in Stackless development at all, but wouldn't
it be more sensible to follow the CPython lead and bundle pip instead
of easy_install?
Please reply to the issue tracker!
Yes, it makes sense. If it all, then I will add the whole thing that
Python3.X
added to the install. Currently I'm trying to find out what a minimalistic
port does actually need.
The criterion is:
- get everything what CPython 3.4 needs for this feature
- find out what the dependencies are
- find a minimalistic approach that is sufficient.
This will probably always be the basic set of requirements.
We do not want to produce new problems, but to solve the existing ones.
We want to do the necessary, minimalistic but sufficient steps to get there.
Please keep this in mind when submitting feature demands.
Cheers - Chris
