Hi, i compiled stackless and now I can start the interpreter. However when
i want to create a virtual environment some modules seem to be missing
(virtualenv complains about zlib).

the install script i use is:

cd /tmp
wget http://www.stackless.com/binaries/stackless-278-export.tar.bz2
tar jxvf stackless-278-export.tar.bz2

cd stackless-278-export
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/
make all
sudo make install

a working stackless python install is now in /usr/local/bin/

When i use virtualenv i use:

#!/bin/bash

target="/home/lars/pyenv/$1"

cd /usr/local/bin/
virtualenv -p python2.7 $target
echo "created virtual python environment in $target"

This gives the error:

Running virtualenv with interpreter /usr/local/bin/python2.7
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/virtualenv.py", line 17, in
<module>
    import zlib
ImportError: No module named zlib

when i look in the make output i see the error:

Python build finished, but the necessary bits to build these modules were
not found:
_bsddb             _curses            _curses_panel
_sqlite3           _ssl               _tkinter
bsddb185           bz2                dbm
dl                 gdbm               imageop
readline           sunaudiodev        zlib
To find the necessary bits, look in setup.py in detect_modules() for the
module's name.

Does this have something to do with the way i install stackless or use
virtualenv or is this a bug in the downloaded installation files? Can
anyone see a way to fix this?

Cheers, Lars
