Don't they know it's not permissable to refer to NATO's UCK/KLA clients as "extremist"? Next thing you know they will be libeling them as terrorists or contras. Or narco-trafficking gangsters controlled by the KLA in Kosovo with generous support from MPRI and assorted Western intelligence agencies. But leave it to Russians and other Eastern Europeans, incurably afflicted as they are by primitive tribal loyalties to - ready press corps? Mantra Number One - FELLOW SLAVS and ORTHODOX BRETHREN - to distort the true nature of the pacifist civil rights struggle in Macedonia conducted by the National Liberation Army. I should know, my grandfather was one of these benighted creatures. Thank heaven we have NATO to protect the civiized world - and UCK/NLA - from them.] TWO MACEDONIAN SOLDIERS WOUNDED IN BATTLE WITH ALBANIAN FIGHTERS NEAR TETOVO BELGRADE, JULY 22, 2001. /RIA Novosti correspondent Alexander Slabynko/ -- Two Macedonian servicemen were injured in fighting between the country's security forces and Albanian fighters around Tetovo. RIA Novosti reports fierce fighting was underway there early on Sunday. Eyewitness reports indicate nearly all settlements around the town were engulfed in the battle. Macedonian Defense Ministry said in a statement Albanian fighters had flouted the cease-fire agreement and launched a gun attack on the military and the police. The security forces had to return fire. The Albanian extremists' provocations were only stopped when a Macedonian Air Force Su-25 fighter jet was scrambled. No casualties were reported among the fighters. The Macedonian government informed the EU observers' mission on the flouting of the cease-fire by the fighters. In a separate development, one soldier was injured as a border guards patrol took on a group of armed extremists near the Albanian border in western Macedonia. The battle lasted three hours. The extremist group was broken up after reinforcements arrived. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Make international calls for as low as $.04/minute with Yahoo!
