Folks, Running "iostat -E" gives you useful information about the disks including, vendor, size, etc. However, the value for "serial No" field is coming out blank. Can someone please shed some light on who the culprit is - the disk, the controller card, or iostat program itself?
Existing disks are from Western Digital. Does it help to buy the disks from a different manufacturer? Thank you in advance for your help.
