I've been looking for a replacement for Stripes since it's not being maintained and it looks like Jakarta Faces has a very similar action bean design. I looked at Faces years ago when it was version 1.x and was put off by all of the xml configuration but now it looks reasonable with its annotations. It seems to work well with the latest version of Tomcat from my minimal testing.
