I have tried doing this, but it looks like my parms file gets overwritten. Is there a backup or alternative location that tftpboot uses to cache these?

Thanks.

Is this a Sun Ray 3 or Sun Ray 3+? P9 is a 3+, you'd need a
SunRayP10.parms for a 3 or 3i.

Does the utquery show the tftpserver to be the same server that you are
creating the parms file on?

I want to disable power off on sunray3.

The following should work for you:

# cat > /tftpboot/SunRayP9.parms << EOF
version=_NONE_
poweroff=0
EOF
# chmod +r /tftpboot/SunRayP9.parms

Just to be clear: the "poweroff" parms key controls the automatic
poweroff of the Sun Ray unit after a certain time of non-use.

My parms file looks like
more SunRayP9.parms
version=4.2_140993-06_2010.10.08.21.53
revision=0
poweroff=0
barrier=422

But for some reason, the DTU's still power off.

Do i need to rerun utfwsync after I change the parms file?

You shouldn't have to, if they're powering down. When they come up
they should pick up the proper firmware version and parms.
What does utfwload -a report? Are the DTUs running the version of
firmware you expect?

-Bob

Yes "4.2_140993-06_2010.10.08.21.53"

utquery shows poweroff=30

I then did an utfwsync and utquery still shows poweroff=30
