An alternative could be to use an NXP JCOP card which we can load with applets
and then give you minidriver support

This should work with Sunray and allow you to load certificates

Thanks for the comprehensive answer. All is not yet clear to me.
Can you download the demo ActivIdentity to see action? Will it be possible to
upload the card Payflex certificate generated with Windows 2008 R2?

You need:

PC/SC [PC Smart Card] SW that you download from Oracle

A config file for that specific card that you import using "utcard -a" [you can
see what has already been imported with "utcard -l"]

Smartcard SW on the Windows box [we use ActivIdentity] that supports your
smartcards

The first time I did this for W2K3, it took almost a year: there are so many
moving pieces and so many areas where something could be misconfigured that it
was an exercise in patience to make sure everything was the right version. I
also had to get a special release of thin client firmware, if memory serves but
that was several years ago so those changes should have been folded into the
main release.

You can do all of this yourself but the one thing that you probably need Oracle
for is the config file. It's a set of low-level instructions for how to deal
with the particular card you are using.

Do you have a support contract with Oracle? I did and it was the only way I
could have gotten this to work; no way I could have figured out all of this by
myself and even if I could have, I still needed special releases of code from
Oracle.

The PC/SC installation guide is here:

http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21907_01/PDF/EN/PCSC1dot3InstallGuide.pdf

[not sure what version they are using now; at the time I did this, it was 1.1 -
1.3]

The only caveat is that you're supposed to uninstall some default PC/SC-related
packages prior to installing the main PC/SC part, which the document explains.

Troubleshooting is difficult. I could never find anything useful on the
Windows side so I had to rely solely on the logs on the SRS
[/etc/opt/SUNWut/log/*]. And the errors can be cryptic.

I hope your journey is not nearly as difficult as mine [maybe they've gathered
all of this info into one "how to" document]. If you have questions, I'll try
to help out as best I can.

In my environment, I have two kind of SRS cards SmartcardFocus Payflex
(original Oracle). I would like to start logging into Windows 2008 R2
certified. I need drivers for the cards packages for Windows. Where can I
download it? What middelware software to upload the certificate you recommend?
opensource?
