Mistery resolved - missing comma in system keymap file -
/usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/sun_vndr/sk

# diff sk ~/conf/backup/sk

The missing comma is not a problem, if Xorg is used (i.e. no Sun Ray
Software installed).
It becomes a problem once the Sun Ray Software is installed, the Xnewt
is used. Xnewt it is more strict? Just hypothesis.
