When I disable 1:1 and join a game, I see a bunch of entries blocked in
the router's firewall like this:
Oct 12 08:36:39 WAN 60.49.208.x.7700
68.7.144.x.55390 UDP

The game has nothing to do with that port (55390)... the one the
firewall says it's recieving on anyway. It's using port 7700 in the
settings, and doing a netstat -n -a on my computer says there's nothing
going on with that port either. I don't know why it thinks the traffic
is heading to that port. If I hook up my ipcop box and forward port
7700 the game works fine, as it does with my crappy D-Link router.
This port that pfSense thinks it's receiving on (and thus blocks)
changes if I leave a game and join a different one, so I can't just
forward the port that pfSense is blocking traffic on. I just left and
joined a different room and now there's a bunch of traffic supposedly
heading to port 62391 in the firewall being blocked.
This port should be 7700 (or different IF it's changed in the settings,
this is the default, and the one I'm using), and I've verified that
nothing is going on GunZ-wise except for on port 7700 (needs to be able
to accept incoming connections from other users) and 6000 (the game's
server, this port doesn't need to be able to accept incoming
connections) - I used Ethereal to look at the traffic when I was hooked
up to my D-Link router. I didn't see any traffic incoming on a port
other than the GunZ port.
All the game's traffic on port 7700 is UDP, by the way.

Maybe you can try this: Enter your BIOS and set your drive parameters MANUALLY
(CHS). There was someone reporting this behaviour in the IRC channel and this
solved it for him. Please report back if this makes any difference for the
installation.

I can only get this game to work with 1:1 enabled... and since I play
this on two computers (one is port 7700 one is port 7750) this isn't a
good solution for me.
Normally, forwarding port 7700 UDP to the computer (and of course making
the firewall rule at the same time) should do this. However, I even
tried forwarding ports 1-65535 TCP + UDP to the computer with the
firewall rule as well, but inside the game I couldn't connect to any of
the players still. When I do 1:1, it works! But, I can't do 1:1 on two
computers at the same time, so it's either one computer gets to play or
the other.
I don't know if this game will run on Cedega, so if you want to try this
yourself you'll probably want a Windows 98/ME/2K/XP computer. The game
can be downloaded (and an account can be made) at http://www.gunzonline.com/
Nothing in the firewall log shows up when I enter a game room, even
though I can't connect to any players (they're pings are stuck at 999
and they don't move at all - you can't see their chat and they can't see
yours... but you can see the messages from the server when a kill is made).
Always open to suggestions :)
