Dear AALOA colleagues, Im very please to introduce myself and other colleagues on behalf of the company we work for: TSB.
TSB (Tecnologías para la Salud y el Bienstar) is a SME located in Valencia that was born almost three years ago as a spin-off company of ITACA institute. The successful research results of a group of entrepreneurs for ten years derived in an invaluable knowledge that now is creating an important added value to the Spanish society and, in the near future, with European impact. TSB develops new technologies and products in two synergic lines: personalized health management and application for well-being. TSB offers a bunch of functionalities for identification, localization, information, clinical and physical security and monitoring support applications for the management of procedures and resources (both patients and assets) in large spaces. TSB offers, as well, a solution for the management of resources in Home Hospitalization Units. We offer also consultancy services to public organizations such as ministries or regional governments in the eHealth and eInclusion domains. We are currently playing an active role in two big industrial consortia: Continua Health Alliance and ZigBee Alliance. Since September 2008, Riccardo Serafin is Senior Software Architect at TSB Tecnologias (ES), where is leading the software department in the design and development of e-health applications. He received the M.S. degree from Politecnico di Milano (IT) in Computer Engineering, and from University of Illinois (USA) in Computer Science, both in 2003. From 2004 to 2008 he was a Researcher at the Scientific Institute H. San Raffaele, IT (HSR), where he participated to the FP6 PIPS Project with the role of technical coordinator for HSR. He also contributed to several others FP6 and FP7 EU Project focusing on the study of novel approaches to the use of ICT in e-health applications. Juan-Pablo Lázaro (myself) is focused on the development of the paradigm of Ambient Intelligence, through the definition of standard architectures, seamless integration of devices, communications and intelligent software, in particular focused on the development of Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) concept. Ive been deeply involved in the technical management of PERSONA European project (http://www.aal-persona.org) in my former phase as researcher in ITACA institute and Im also coordinating exploitation of CIAMI eInclusion Living Lab in Valencia (http://www.ciami.es). I also lead the internal team in TSB that works for universAAL project (http://www.universaal.org). We hope to have a fruitful and cooperative work with all the members and we are looking forward to creating a strong impact in the AAL scientific community.
