Re Cellulose conversion for those who are
interested.
This is certainly an area we could and should focus on.
The main problems with cellulose fermentation as I am sure you are aware are the lignin problem and the fermentation of hexose and pentose sugars. If you have not read the Process Overview from the BC Wood Ethanol Report it is well worth reading as it gives a good insight into the various processes. The theoretical combined Brightstar Gasification system and Bioengineering Resources conversion Fermentation make interesting reading. If developed properly a lot of countries should be able to put small plants together that produce ethanol at some of the most efficient costs.
