There are a number of diesel model airplane engines available, and I don't see why if you heated the SVO, that it wouldn't work. (In fact I have been wanting to try this and just haven't gotten around to it.) Bob Boumstein ( [EMAIL PROTECTED] ) publishes a monthly list of engines that he has for sale, including diesel engines. If you e-mail him to get on his list, you can see what is available. I would be very interested in your results.
