Hello Robin et al. The acidic step is necessary for neutralisation of the biodiesel. But, basically any mineral acid can be used. The most common (and efficient ?) is concentrated sulphuric acid. Even hydrochloric acid can be used, however usually available as 35-36% solution. For neutralisation similar amounts of phosphoric and sulphuric acid are required, all according to the need for neutralisation. With best regards AGERATEC AB Jan Warnqvist
