This is quite a common occurrence. CrossWire has two versions of the Latvian NT module. CrossWire Main includes v1.1 CrossWire Beta includes v1.3 The conf file for the latter includes: Version=1.3 History_1.3=minor spacing cleanup and tagging of references History_1.2=fixed encoding, moved to OSIS source History_1.1=compressed module The above history shows that a possible explanation is that you may be have been using v1.1 that had incorrect encoding. So next step is for you to install v1.3 from the Beta repository. If that works, then we should look at moving v1.3 from Beta to Main asap.
