Given a researcher with ample time to devote to the task, it should be feasible to construct a French canon.h file that would cover a significant proportion of the variations in v11n.
It would require a lot of diligent detailed comparisons for French Bibles. IMHO, it would be better to have too few verses defined in any given chapter than too few. - Having too few causes content to be appended to the last defined verse during module build. - Having too many merely leaves something for emptyvss to report should one be so inclined. Several French Bibles are available in digital format at http://456-bible.123-bible.com/ One difficulty facing the researcher is that quite often those who did the digitization have tended to squeeze the text into an existing v11n, and if you're lucky, they recorded the original verse numbers in parentheses.
