Hi, could I suggest a bit of reorganization of JIRA? We have currently one project Modules with three components: Encoding problem, Module creation, Text Problem, No Component.
I would think it would be a way more interesting, if the Modules project has as its components individual modules (e.g., CzeCEP) and each of these components have its assigned maintainers. 1) It would alleviate responsibility from the burden of one (Chris Little) for all issues in the Project, and it would attach specific person to be a focal point for each module. There would be a specific person with specific responsibility, authority etc. for each module, and we can start working on accquiring more of such maintainers. (and yes, I am asking to be assigned all Cze* modules). 2) It would be more appropriate for actually working on the issues. E.g., if I have in http://www.crosswire.org/tracker/browse/MOD-290 need to rebuild that many modules, it is a giantic task, which I (if I was assigned this ticket) would procrastrinate on forever. One has to prepare each module (especially, given we don’t a central repository of source code for each module), rebuild it (or reedit by hand), etc. Whereas, if this ticket has one ticket per module blocking it (or how do you do subtasks in Jira), these could be assigned to individual owners of modules, who know exactly what to do, and they could do it easily.
