& the Great Western Highway, Blakheath.

   *THE PARADOXES OF TIME TRAVEL*

ISAAC ASIMOV wrote: “The dead giveaway that true time-travel is
flatly impossible arises from the well-known paradoxes it entails.
So complex and hopeless are the paradoxes that the easiest way out
of the irrational chaos that results is to suppose that true
time-travel is, and forever will be, impossible.” In this talk our
speaker will introduce some of these alleged paradoxes of time
travel and argue that they are not really so troublesome after all
and that, while time travel may or may not be physically possible,
there are no good conceptual reasons for thinking that it is impossible.

   Speaker:NICHOLAS SMITH/Professor of Philosophy at Sydney University/
