I would think that it would be hard for anyone to beat Tiger Woods for
Athlete of the Year ... Especially with this year being the Olympic year and
everyone really focusing on that ONE single event .. Marion might have a
chance if she can win 5 gold medals, but that is no give away .. The long
jump was a thriller for her at the trials and the best of the best are not
here in America right now .. Relays can have botched hand offs .. And the
4x4 is always a difficult one (although) I think we have as good a chance as
anyone right now to win that one) .. A world record by Johnson or Greene in
the games might help their cause some .. But if the wind is swirling as has
been said before then that might not be a strong possibility ... While we
have a strong team this year heading into the Olympics I don't think there
is enough name recognition among most of the team to garner AOY  votes
outside of track and field .. And right now Woods is the King of media .. IF
he wasn't before he definitely is after yesterday's performance ..
