Recently, he has been training for a similar event in Hawaii in late September. Turlough Ohare is a former distance freestyle Olympic qualifyer in 1988 and 1992. Since beginning med-school at UBC, Turlough has been training hard in the ocean as a lifeguard and recently finished 2nd in the Across the bay 10km swim event. This is a winning combination in need of a runner. I have a commitment with the Pinetree classic that weekend and cannot compete as a result. Entry fee will be waived for this team.
