Sometimes streets are renamed, and name = Street A name:(2013 Jan 1+) = Street B shows the advantages of conditional tagging even on the name tag. In this case, an automatic validation tool could detect in 2013 that the condition will always evaluate to true, and suggest appropriate actions.
