Cgi mechs lack any sense of tension in action scenes. They don't get scratched up, their surfaces don't get smeared with dirt, gradually more damaged over time, random pieces ripped off exposing wire and circuitry. They don't interact enough with the environment and when they melee one another it's just awkward.
