Sure, there's loads of pages on the wiki describing how to map particular types of things - they are called "Feature" pages. These naturally refer to lots of specific tag pages. See for example http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Bicycle http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Hiking etc. Someone has even made a category for them: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Category:Features and a page that also lists them http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Features and if you click through a few of them, you'll realise that most are incomplete.
