It seems like jfw is getting worse by the version as well.
the page up and page down keys do squishy things with v 8

You can get that for any version, anyway. As for me, I'm still using 7. It's 
more
stable than 8, but not as stable as 4.5. If it were still feasible to
use it, I still would. When it did crash, you could get your broken
project recovered 100% of the time, without fail. I've even seen it
recover from a power failure while recording when the file hasn't been saved 
yet.
Not anymore for many, many version though.
