That's great, but the notes need to be nodes in the DB so that when I am looking at the area in an editor I can see them. Unless you want to write separate plugins for JOSM, Potlatch, OSMAJAX, Merkaartor, Maplint ~ etc. as well as the one for WhereAmI.
