Volume 41 of the Society of Cartographers Bulletin arrived by post on Friday, and mighty fine it looks too, with it's enhanced colour section. OSM is particularly well represented in this issue too.
Main articles include: Geodata collection in the 21stC Nick Black and Steve Coast Designing maps for the colour-vision impaired Bernhard Jenny and Nathaniel Vaughn Kelso Open source renders the world Artem Pavlenko Musical maps: a musical approach to cartography Brian Rogers Design matters - time matters Pam Baldaro Mapping the sky Daniel Thomas Cartography and Google Earth Steve Chilton There are also 8 pages of cartography tips, plus map and book reviews, and notes on meetings, exhibitions and conferences. If you are not a member of the Society of Cartographers you can get all this (and more benefits) by joining for a ridiculously low annual fee: http://www.soc.org.uk/member.htm If you like the sound of all this you should also consider attending a Society of Cartographers Summer School (or the upcoming Illustrator workshop http://www.soc.org.uk/workshop.htm). Summer school details at: http://www.soc.org.uk/summersc.htm Why not consider giving a paper at the summer school (there is already one major OSM initiative being highlighted with a presentation in the programme). If you want any further details don't hesitate to contact me.
