Young geocachers in Ontario have been mapping fire hydrants (and last year 'farmland properties' for the County Planning Office. http://www.mpnnow.com/news/x1434780231/Mapmaking-in-the-digital-age Would make sense for someone to get in touch with them so they can map anything/evverything for OSM and then give the OSM data to the planning office.
