If you people ever need to profile some large perl code, I think I can recommend Devel::NYTProf, it works much faster and gives much more in-depth results than Devel::Prof.
Granted, big runs of pkg_add are not exactly average, but still, Devel::Prof was generating 2G traces, and dprofpp was taking over an hour to produce its results. On the same test, Devel::NYTprof generated 200M traces, and took 15 minutes to produce very much detailed reports...
