As David pointed out: The snag is that you must remember to open your PDF with pdfopen if you want to be able to close it with pdfclose. I'm preparing a new subsection at WIMA on this Adobe Reader issue. Could Mac OSX users please report to me or to the list whether Preview (or any other free PDF viewer on Macs) re-loads automatically if the pdf file is changed.
