Despite of noticeable exaggeration I think this is a +1 for my suggestion.

Glad you do care that much about a single "somewhat widely used
implementation in the world that chooses to put such quotes around a tag
resource identifier". Your words couldn't proof my feeling about this
any better. As soon as there are some more supporting comments I promise
to make the world a better place, at least regarding (un)quoted tags. :-)
