But they're not the only entertainment on the Great White Way. Below, BSTLV looks at eight other Broadway shows you should definitely check out. These eight productions range from timeless revivals to brand new dramatic works that are destined to become Broadway classics. The Addams Family Lunt-Fontanne Theatre Gross: $1,328,250 Attendance: 11,605 Seats: 1,519 Average Ticket Price: $114.47 Capacity: 95.5% The number one question asked about this musical is does it contain the famous Addams Family theme song? It didn't originally, but the producers worked to get the rights and now the theme song is part of this very clever and well-done musical. The Addams Family is based on the original comic strip, not the television show or the movie. It stars the delightful Nathan Lane as Gomez and the effervescent Bebe Neuwirth as Morticia. A View From The Bridge Cort Theatre Gross: $896,520 Attendance: 8,677 Seats: 1,079 Average Ticket Price: 103.32 Capacity: 100.5% Hurry up and get your tickets to A View From The Bridge. The play ends its limited engagement run at the Cort Theatre April 4, 2010. A View From The Bridge, written by Arthur Miller, stars Liev Schreiber and Scarlett Johannsson. Schreiber plays Eddie Carbone, a Brooklyn longshoremen obsessed with his 17-year-old niece, Catherine, played by Johannsson. The 2-hour long play moves quickly as it builds to a dramatic second act finish. Million Dollar Quartet Nederlander Theatre Gross: $343,418 Attendance: 9,123 Seats: 1,142 Average Ticket Price: $56.09 Capacity: 67% You have to see a show whose four main characters are Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins. Million Dollar Quartet is a dramatization of one of rock and roll's greatest jams. On Dec. 4, 1956, Presley, Cash, Lewis and Perkins all gathered for a recording session at Sun Records studio in Memphis. The jukebox musical features rock and roll classics like "Blue Suede Shoes," "Great Balls of Fire," and "Folsom Prison Blues." Rock of Ages Brooks Atkinson Theatre Gross: $597,681 Attendance: 7,605 Seats: 997 Average Ticket Price: 78.59 Capacity: 95.3% Rock of Ages is one Broadway's most entertaining shows. This jukebox musical features tunes from some of the great hair bands of 1980's like Bon Jovi, Twisted Sister, and Poison. Besides the classic cassette rock there's also every 80's cliché you can imagine. This light-hearted and uproarious musical stars former American idol contestant Constantine Maroulis. Rock of Ages is a riotous good time that never takes itself too seriously. Plus, you have to love a show that can make the song "We Built This City" cool. Fela! Eugene O'Neill Theatre Gross: $508,230 Attendance: 7,096 Seats: 1,030 Average Ticket Price: $71.62 Capacity: 86.1% Fela! tells the story of real-life Nigerian composer and political activist Fela Anikulapo Kuti. Fela launched the Afrobeat community while simultaneously incurring the wrath of his government and its military. This show features several songs written by Fela. Additional music is by Aaron Johnson and Jordan Mclean, with additional lyrics by Jim Lewis. Bill T. Jones wrote the book. Kevin Mambo plays the lead and he's absolutely fabulous. Make sure you go to Fela! well prepared because this isn't your typical Broadway show. Memphis Shubert Theatre Gross: $629,872 Attendance: 10,230 Seats: 1,470 Average Ticket Price: $61.57 Capacity: 87% One of the most energetic musicals on the Great White Way, Memphis tells the tale of 1950's white radio DJ Huey Calhoun who falls in love with black music and a beautiful black singer. The production, currently playing at the Shubert Theater, stars Chad Kimball and Montego Glover. The music and lyrics were written by David Bryan, keyboardist from Bon Jovi. The show's rousing finale "Steal Your Rock 'n' Roll" is worth the price of admission alone. NOTE: The numbers used were from the week of March 15-21. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Ryan Hogan is a blog writer for the Best Show Tickets blog, a sports, theatre and music blog.
