One group takes to the streets in anarchy, while another performs civil disobedience with the blessings of the authorities.
One group chalks body outlines on busy sidewalks while another disturbs traffic with banners, leaflets and signs.
One group prays for peace, while another unleashes letter-writing campaigns and boycotts.
These are all great actions, taken on by honest, caring, active people who all agree that war is not the answer.
But they lack something. A spirit of unity and cooperation, and an overall sense of what each other is doing.
Folks, the left hand needs to know what the right hand is doing if we're to make an effective effort to stop this war.
I invite you all to attend a summit of peace activist leaders on Tuesday, March 25th at 1pm at Antioch Baptist Church, located at East 89th and Cedar. We hope to share with one another the plans of our respective organizations, in order to maximize our effectiveness and to present a unified front to the media and our government. To look to the future and to begin to create a coalition that carries beyond this imminent threat into the far future.
Please, let's all get on the same page. Join us.
