Actually, there was a very specific incident where somebody brought a television on a plane in order to see something important. We're talking 1950-1960 timeframe and and a tube-television. Apparently this disturbed something in the cockpit, but there is no evidence to indicate that it was actually a problem in the cockpit, only that they spotted some kind of noise.
