One big difference between Tinc and Wireguard is the ability to do L2 vpn .

Wireguard is L3 , so to implement the same , you must use Wireguard and Vxlan .

It will be great if we can promote the last git commit as version 1.1 of Tinc
, at least a release a new name 1.1-BETA  or 1.1-RC  ,

Currently , i am the fresh maintener of tinc on OpenWrt , and i can announce
that
tinc 1.1-git is now in :
  master (
https://github.com/openwrt/packages/commit/7005d650cbec2b6967fdd650500cc40e0819318b
 )
  openwrt-21.02 (
https://github.com/openwrt/packages/commit/7fdeffbfb42b331c7d4dbb5f0cb516fafddaa691
 )
