I've just completed a revised version of my personal and idiosyncratic advice to students applying to graduate school. It's directed at our own Bishop's psychology students and presents a Canadian viewpoint, but there's stuff there that may be of general interest. The main difference from my previous version is that most of the information that students need is now available on the web. How quickly things have changed! TIPS has been a helpful source for some of the information, and people may recognize familiar names among those I quote directly. If anyone would like to check it out, here's the url: http://www.ubishops.ca/ccc/div/soc/psy/GRADSCH.html I invite comments, discussion of the advice offered, and suggestions for more stuff to include. Send it either on or off TIPS, but preferably on, to facilitate discussion. -Stephen ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Stephen Black, Ph.D. tel: (819) 822-9600 ext 2470 Department of Psychology fax: (819) 822-9661 Bishop's University e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Lennoxville, QC J1M 1Z7 Canada Department web page at http://www.ubishops.ca/ccc/div/soc/psy Check out TIPS listserv for teachers of psychology at: http://www.frostburg.edu/dept/psyc/southerly/tips/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------
