I commited in TC 4.1 and CATALINA HEAD (not in TC 4.0.X)
And an updated in TC 3.3.2-dev (HEAD)
These updated shell script (TC 3.3.x, 4.1 and 5.0) should make life easier for people which want to use tomcat via initd script, ie all Linux RPM based distros.
