Using HttpServletResponse.sendRedirect() with a mailto loses the 'to' information

I too have hit this... v4.1.27

response.sendRedirect("mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]");

seems to strip the <addr> after the :

the sendRedirect then tries to open ONLY 

mailto: 

which creates a mail with the to: field <blank>
