To make this URL work

http://localhost/cart.faces - error 404

You need to just define your context as path="" (although I use path="/ROOT" 
with no problem). 

You URI mappings for JK would need to include (if no other wildcard mapping 
exists)

/*.faces=ajp13

to ensure traffic with faces extensions reach Tomcat.
