DB Connection Pooling with Tomcat

Hi,
I am wondering about connection pooling. I am using Tomcat 4.1 with Sybase. Does Tomcat have some some of pooling functionality, or do I look to my DB vendor? Right know we use one put together by someone (no one seems to know where it came from), and I am not convinced it is as good as it could be.
