The Touch has SqueezeBox Server, which is needed for any SqueezeBox to
play your own music files. It also works as a NAS (network attached
storage) device, which I guess is what you mean by "disk station"?

So, yes, with the Touch you wouldn't need a separate computer (PC, Mac,
NAS.. ) to run the SB Server on. And your USB stick should be perfectly
fine. I don't think you even need to do a lot of installing software for
any of this to work.

The Touch is of course also a player that can be connected to any audio
system, and the touch screen can be used to control other players as
well, such as your SBR.

This is all of course what I've read here on the forum. I don't have
one myself, yet.

Regarding the SB Receiver, it won't do anything else than receive a
stream from the server and play it.
