Hi,
Hi,
I installed vala from the latest tarball. I removed the old vala using synaptic and reinstalled. I also installed something called autopoint. to test if vala is ok?: bjorn@bjorn-laptop:~/Desktop/tracker$ valac --version Vala 0.14.0 now it is a bit better (se below), but still fails in the end over things in the "Makefile.am". thanks for any hint on how to proceed...

You need the introspection packages installed. On Ubuntu its' gobject-introspection IIRC. I think you may also need libgirepository1.0-dev.
