Ron, could you please create a JIRA for that ?
Also, would you be willing to help getting this done ?

Agreed. I suspect it will be at least another 6-12 months before the
majority of the big guys' (BEA, IBM, etc.) customers have moved to JDK 5.

Well, to be fair SDO only supports 1.4.2 after you remove some files that
leverage JDK 5 (one if I recall). Still, finding a build of Tuscany for
1.4.2 outside of rolling your own is impossible. I would like to recommend
that SDO and DMS be built for both 1.4.2 and 5, since many enterprise
customers are still on 1.4.2 and will be for some time.

SDO/SCA is very important, and for Apache to lead it seems necessary to
focus on the most widely used JDK, at least until IBM Websphere moves to
JDK 5.

Subject
Using Tuscany DAS w/JDK 1.4.2+

Greetings,

Would you consider making Tuscany DAS available to JDK 1.4 customers?
Since Tuscany DAS leverages SDO, it would seem to make sense for the DAS
JDK requirements to be sync'd with the Tuscany SDO JDK requirements? As
you know, Tuscany SDO currently supports JDK 1.4+. After browsing the DAS
source code, there appear to be only a few places that leverage JDK 1.5
features. These could easily be replaced with JDK 1.4 functions. Would you
consider supporting JDK 1.4 until SDO 3 is released at which time I
presume SDO will require JDK 1.5?

Thanks,

- Ron
