Ué, porque precisa abrir o nautilus como root? Ele pode instalar em ~/.fonts, isto é, no diretório .fonts no home. Para copiar para lá não bastaria abrir o nautilus e fazer fonts:/// na barra localização e copiar a fonte que ele quer para lá?
