This problem also causes a estimated battery life of over more than 10 to 40 hours. I used it on my laptop and suspend/hibernate is not working and the battery meter is always showing an icon that there is still enough charge left. But suddenly the laptop will turn off because the battery is drawn. Using the latest alpha version causes a lot of strange problems including not detecting Battery to AC power switch.
To keep using my laptop I went back to the 8.04 version.
