I've just noticed that this was confirmed against acpi and assigned to
the kernel team. Only kernel bugs should be assigned to the kernel team.
I've reassigned this bug to the kernel anyway, as the acpi source
package only contains some userspace utilities for viewing ACPI
information. The ACPI subsystem is part of the kernel.
After looking through the logs, more information is needed anyway. There
doesn't appear to be any evidence of an attempt to suspend/resume in the
kern.log.
Somebody32 - if you're still experiencing this problem, could you do a
full suspend -> resume -> shutdown cycle and attach your
/var/log/kern.log and /var/log/kern.log.0 afterwards. It would be really
great if you could add markers in the logs to show where you
suspend/resume/shutdown.
If you are still experiencing this issue, can you try with the Intrepid
Beta live CD?
Thanks

Status: Confirmed => Incomplete
** Description changed:
Asus A6Ja, Hardy, suspend works, it's ok, but after wake up, if I want
to shutdown notebook, all starts normally (X dies, boot-screen progress
bar reduces), but when progress bar became empty nothing happens. I can
shutdown it only pressing power button for 5 seconds.
-
- P.S. Also affects Asus P5K-VM exactly same way.
** Tags removed: restart shutdown suspend
