I looked into this a bit today. This is happening because the package hasn't been updated to a newer DBUS API. The version in Intrepid is 0.2.0-0ubuntu4. The newest upstream version is also 0.2.0 and was last released in 2006.
I'm not interested in maintaining it upstream (or in Ubuntu) and perhaps the right thing is just to drop the damned package, but FWIW I'm attaching a patch which fixes the problem by updating DeviceDetection.py to use the new API. ** Attachment added: "Update DeviceDetection.py's use of the DBUS API" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/18324480/00-syncropated-patch -- syncropated crashed with DBusException in call_blocking() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/200357 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
