I have an identical crash with 2.6.27. It doesn't happen with 2.6.26.
Usually it happens with the first (possibly second too) boot with
2.6.27. Then it boots fine. So this error appears on cold boots for me.
2.6.26 boots well in any situation though.
I have a Dell D630 with GM965, Intel 3945ABG wireless and X3100
graphics.
