Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 RC or later?

when i plug in my Panasonic Mp3 player it gets recognized as a Digital Audio
Player but when i double click on it it says Unable To Mount: Theirs probably
no media in the drive. however when i plug it in an XP system its recognized
instantly.
